Wrangler Theater

Wrangler Theater is a change from the usual atmosphere of West Tech and brings a breath of fresh air, or in this case, art, into the school. The theater department takes a room and transforms it into the Jungle of Nool, a two story New York house, Maine in the middle of snowfall, Harvard Law, or whatever our show desires. All the world’s a stage and there’s nothing stopping our room from becoming one too. The theater department is home to warm smiles and open arms. Under the guidance of Ms. Young, we are able to create performances to present to the school, friends, and family. Auditions for shows are open to the entire school so everyone can get a taste of what Wrangler Theater’s all about. Acting on stage is a truly unique experience that builds public speaking skills, confidence, and a more interpersonal presence. Whether it be singing, dancing, or acting, the theater welcomes all. Wrangler Theater opens up a world of opportunity to meet new people, explore a new environment, and be a part of an amazing family.

In Wrangler Theater at West Career and Technical Academy we take theater and form it into something new. We have a black box theater and that is an advantage to doing shows. We have an amazing theater teacher who has taught us throughout this year how to improve our improv skills and sharpen our knowledge of Shakespeare. Our tech class is also an amazing and important part of Wrangler Theater. At that class everyone learned about lighting, sound, or construction. Wrangler Theater is hugely supported by our Principal Mrs. Rozar, she comes to every show and loves the work we do and hopes we never stop. Without her there would be no Wrangler Theater.
